Fashion Journalism

I have been thinking a lot lately, a very bad sign. I really would like to study journalism, focusing on fashion. The only problem is I might not get into my school's newspaper. It only has a small number of members and only the very best get in. I thought that I wrote a good essay, but I am really worried that compared to everybody else's it won't be good. If any of you guys have advice on how I can prepare for a journalism course even if I don't get into this class please comment me!

Hola Chicas!

So Thursday is my birthday and I am getting really excited. Not only is it my sixteenth birthday but my birthday gift is a trip to Spain. True, it is an educational trip that is supposed to prepare me for my AP exams and make me more fluent in Spanish. I will be staying with a host family and going to school for three hours a day. But after that we have the rest of the afternoon Spain to vist cultural sights and shop. Plus nine other kids from my school will be going and I will be rooming with a friend. So leading up to my trip, which is for three weeks I will be posting packing lists and outfits that I will be bringing. But at the moment I have my itunes list of songs that I am listening to.

Altisimo by Hector Buitrago
Nuestro Amor by RBD
Mexico, Mexico by RBD
so all of RBD's songs
Vamos a la Plays by unknown
Selena's songs
and Shakira

You Look B-E-A-UTIFUL Dahling

I really like Agnyess Deyn. She is so gorgeus and I think she did a really nice job on her first cover.

Practice Makes Perfect

I just got this new book called Essential Fashion Illustration: Poses. It has pictures of every pose that you will ever need to use in fashion illustration. Here is my first try:
I am really hoping to get better seeing as it is so much fun. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to get better at drawing. I never used to be able to draw legs.

So Cute!!!

I have to say that the Sartorialist takes some amazing pictures. I especially like the one of the couple in Stockholm kissing. They are so cute together and their outfits are awesome.

Ohh Laa Laa

When Yvan left Paris, I wasn't sure what to expect but I am finding some of the London styles very nice. Such as:
I have always wanted super short hair, but every time I go in to get my hair cut I end up saying that I still want it long enough to put it up.
Marilyn Monroe-esque, no?
Although it is starting to get hot out I am still looking for the perfect coat and this is most definitely it.
What can I say, I love high waists, red, black, and polka dots. The suspenders are just an extra.

You Know What I Like, What I Really, Really Like

I am really starting to like the very put together look that the Sartorialist does an amazing job of catching. Here are some of my faves. I really love the whole wearing cue dresses while biking. Especially since I bike to school most days. I am thinking of doing a post about how I manage to look fabulous but still stay comfortable on a bike with a 50 pound backpack on. Anyways, I love the polished looks of the second two girls so much.

I hate to say this...

I really hate doing this especially since this blog is just getting up and running, but...finals are near approaching and I have about a zillion projects to do. I am going to have to take a break from posting so much. I will try to post at least three times a week but this isn't going to be a daily thing for a while. I swear that when I get done with this hell week I will have some awesome posts for you guys, but until then bear with me and have some fun in the beginning days of summer and the ending days of school!!!

New You Tube favorite!

I am realling loving the videos by William Sledd. He is hilarious in his Ask A Gay Man movies that are a savior to fashion victims everywhere. You should check his blog out at One of his videos is below. As William Sledd would say, Check it out bitches.

Dog is a Woman's Best Friend

I was so excited to find this picture on Face Hunter. I know that the little dog trend is really going around right now. Invision Paris Hilton with her dog stuffed in her purse. I think those dogs are just wimpy. So when I saw this picture on Face Hunter I was inspired to do some shots of my dog. Later I will post some pics of him and I, together, but for now why don't you meet him. He is old, he drools, and only loves you when you have food to give him.

So Cuteiful!

I am really loving this street style blog that I found, Stilin Berlin. I really am wishing that there was a street style blog in Burlington, ahh but that is not the case. I love the way this girl uses layers and had used the leggings in a nice way, which to are not going to get old as I like to wear them a lot. The outfit is slouchy and comfy while she isn't wearing any sweats!

I Feel So Hip!

I have a dress that is just like this one, only shorter. I think it is supposed to be larger and I jsut grew too tall for it but I usually wear it under jeans because I don't have any tights that match brown. But when I saw this girl, from the Sartorialist, wearing her dress I had an epiphany and am going to try and find some opaque or solid silver or gold or yellow tights.
And her hair...that is how I want to get mine cut. I am going for the shorter lengthes because it is summer(almost) and for me that signifies short hair. Plus my hair seems to reach my shoulders and then stop growing. I love how she wore the turtleneck with her dress, it makes it much less showy, I know my wrap dress definitely displays some cleavage which my school tends to frown upon. I know by now I have talked about almost everything that has to do with this outifit, but I love it. Her shows are beautiful and how she wears no jewelery...I love it. She seems so confident with her outfit that she doesn't need any jewelery.
